Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation
A resource for Justice and Peace information and action To our Franciscan Family - Posted on this website are eleven brochures covering a range of Justice and Peace themes. The authors of these reflections are friars, or laity who minister with us or Secular Franciscans. Each of these brochures is designed to be used for personal prayer or in a small faith sharing group. In our public ministry settings we have used these discussion starters as a way to bring a group of laity to reflect on a social justice theme before beginning a formal business portion of the meeting, or as a part of a day or evening program of recollection. Each brochure is designed to be Xeroxed in black/white. So, if you wish to use or share these with folks who are gathered for prayer and reflection or, to use them in your personal prayer, please feel free to do so. After reading some of these brochures, I am hoping that others in our extended Franciscan family will feel welcome to submit a short reflection (about 550 words) as well. Please consider writing about some moment in your life when you realized some aspect of a social justice and your faith life, that ‘a ha’ moment! If you need some help in putting your memories into words, give me a call and we can work something out. My hope is that by January 2009 we can have a large collection of these ‘Franciscan Moments’ to share with each other and the Franciscan family.
